Whether your concern is a property tax dispute, seeking assistance with navigating local government regulations, or it’s just a general request regarding your legal rights, our legal team is prepared to advocate on your behalf. We advocate for you to make sure that your concerns are addressed and your interests are heard.

Advice Regarding Property Tax & Municipal Expenditures

Property tax obligations can become a maze of sorts. At Yashica Marshall Legal Services, we provide legal representation for homeowners and businesses in District 4 to ensure they are clear on property tax laws so they can be fiscally responsible. We provide legal advisement regarding assessment appeals, exemptions, and compliance as a means of helping our clients make well-informed decisions, thus avoiding future pitfalls. Part of our priority is encouraging responsible fiscal practices relative to the transparent and equitable management of public legal resources at the county level.

Community Legal Involvement: Clinics, Events, & Volunteering

We offer regular legal clinics, educational programs, and outreach events to give our residents an opportunity to receive free or reduced-cost direct legal advice and counsel, have their questions answered about legal rights, and participate in regular civic engagement. Through our volunteer programs, we offer pro bono opportunities for attorneys, law students, and people with civically minded interests to help us expand our reach and go deeper in everything we do. Every event is focused on eliminating barriers to access to justice and creating a culture of support and knowledge within Cobb County.

Open Access & Policy Lobbying

It’s standard practice for Yashica Marshall Legal Services to maintain open lines of communication regarding all positions on legal policy issues. Our firm consistently engages with the community on a wide range of topics related to local legislation, tax proposals at various levels, and legal policies that may affect our clients. We provide legal publications to keep our clients informed about these matters. Additionally, our team organizes forums and facilitates discussions with our clients to deliver comprehensive overviews and analyses of any positions that challenge frivolous or legally questionable taxes. Our legal team is dedicated to ensuring that you remain informed and actively involved in the process of enacting sound laws for District 4.

Direct Reimbursement: We Directly Provide Community Legal Services

“Giving back is our belief. In an unprecedented commitment, Yashica Marshall has pledged that she will give back her first year of legal service fees directly to the community. This reinvestment back into the community funds local legal aid programs, increases access to pro bono services, and sustains volunteer-led programs. We promise that by choosing to donate or selecting our services, every dollar goes directly back to District 4 in the forward pursuit of empowering a more just, legally successful future for all.”

Voter Legal Information & Education

Accurate legal information is pivotal to civic engagement. Our group provides straightforward, intelligible information on voter protections and local, national, and international election law, as well as governing processes coordinating local decisions. From guides on registering to vote to workshops explaining the role of initiatives and propositions, we work to ensure every qualified District 4 resident knows how to exercise their legal rights at the voting booth and subsequent ballot measures.
